SYMPTOMS:

This is the biggest source of immune suppression and toxicity that I find. They keep putting more and more chlorine in the water to kill the increasing number of resistant pathogens in the tap water. In showers, the moisture and open pores provide an opening to the bloodstream and other organs and it’s breathed in as well through the lungs. Some symptoms that can show up are:

  • respiratory problems
  • digestive issues
  • sore throat
  • dry skin & hair
  • stomach pain
  • allergies & more!

SHOWER/BATH:

Get a GOOD shower filter. I like the Berkey shower filter. Just remember to replace it every 4 months. If you take a bath, use the water through the shower filter to fill the bath so you don’t soak in hot chlorine.

SWIMMING:

If you can, get a saltwater pool.  If you swim in a regular pool, don't bake in the sun. Rinse off because the pool water has much higher chlorine content than the shower!

CLEANERS:

Check the ingredients for bleach, chlorine, ammonia and shop for natural cleaners when possible. Use the Think Dirty app  or the EWG app when you're at the store to scan products for their toxicity ratings.

 DRINKING:

Don't drink tap water at home or in restaurants. If you can’t get access to a good filter, use bottled water but most are not good. I like the Berkey Water filter. See Water Guide for more information and guidance.

COFFEE/TEA:

If you get your Cup O Joe or Tea out, they likely use tap water. This includes lemonade, ice tea, etc. Plan ahead and make it at home and buy your own reusable go cups! Save a tree.

COOKING:

Don't use tap water to cook or rinse your food. If you get a whole house carbon filter it's idea or a Berkey Water filter to wash veggies and cook food.

LAUNDRY:

Get natural laundry detergent and avoid bleach in your laundry. The residue of these chemicals stays on sheets, towels and clothes so if you sweat or use them to dry, you are absorbing it.

TAMPONS/PADS:

They bleach conventional tampons & pads and use chemicals that make you bleed more. Look for organic cotton at your Natural Grocer or a service like Lola or Diva Cup.
