New Year health resolutions for Mystery Symptoms

New Year health resolutions for Mystery Symptoms

New Year, New You… Without the BS

Every January, the internet turns into one giant group project:

  • “I’m going to eat perfect.”

  • “I’m going to work out every day.”

  • “I’m going to take all the supplements.”

  • “I’m going to fix my hormones.”

  • “I’m going to get my life back.”

And then… two weeks later… you’re standing in the kitchen like, Why do I still feel off? Why is this so hard? Why do I have to white-knuckle basic life?

Here’s what nobody tells you:

If your body is overwhelmed, you can’t “resolution” your way out of it.
You can make the “right” choices all day long, but if you’re dealing with hidden interference (toxins, digestive dysfunction, food reactions, pathogens that don’t show up on labs yet), your body is basically trying to run a marathon with ankle weights on.

And then you blame yourself.

Nope.

“New You” is usually just “New Rules” (and that’s why it fails)

Most New Year plans are built around behavior.

But chronic mystery symptoms are built around physiology.

That’s why you can be doing “everything right” and still feel like:

  • your energy is gone

  • your brain is foggy

  • your sleep is a mess

  • your digestion is unpredictable

  • your mood feels hijacked

  • you can’t lose weight no matter what you do

And if your labs are “normal,” you get the classic line: “You’re fine.”

Let me be very clear:

Just because your labs are normal doesn’t mean your symptoms aren’t physical and fixable.

Labs are a snapshot. They’re not the owner’s manual. They can miss what matters most.

The real “New You” is a reset… not a resolution

I teach something called the 5 Layers to Illness—and yes, I compare it to a five-layer bean dip because it makes it easy to get.

Here’s the simple version:

  1. Toxic burden builds up

  2. Digestion gets compromised

  3. Immune system gets reactive (food reactions/allergies)

  4. “Bugs” take advantage (fungus, bacteria, parasites, virus) — often not enough to show up in labs yet

  5. Eventually you get diagnosable “disease” and “abnormal labs”

Healing doesn’t happen by chasing symptoms. Healing happens by going backward through the layers—like rewinding a VHS tape.

That’s the difference between:

  • managing your life around your symptoms
    vs.

  • getting your body back in balance

The “Bouncer” concept (this will click)

Your immune system is like a bouncer at the door of your body.

If that bouncer is strong, pathogens don’t get in and set up camp.
If that bouncer is exhausted (from toxins + wrong food + stressors + drainage issues), the door is left "unmanned"—and then you’re dealing with all kinds of “random” symptoms that don’t seem connected because nothing is there to recognize the enemies and fight them off. They STILL might not show up in normal labs.

The goal isn’t to live in fear of germs. You’re a mammal. You’re exposed daily.

The goal is: get the bouncer back on the job.

New Year Reset: 5 things that actually move the needle

You don’t need a perfect plan. You need a smart one.

1) Stop feeding the “bugs” (just start here)

If you’re dealing with mystery symptoms, the fastest way to calm the system down is usually to remove the most common inflammatory triggers for a season of time while your body stabilizes.

A good starting point (for many people): sugar, dairy, wheat, soy.
These are common foods that can keep the body reactive and feed pathogens.

You’re not doing this forever. You’re doing this to hit reset.

2) Raise your protein standards (and yes, it matters)

Your body can’t repair itself without the building blocks. Period.

High-quality animal protein (pasture-raised, clean) is foundational for immune repair and tissue repair.

3) Reduce your toxic input (the simple stuff counts)

People love fancy protocols while ignoring the basics that keep the bucket overflowing.

Start with what you control:

  • better water

  • better food quality

  • fewer daily chemical exposures

This is part of lowering the “overwhelm” so your body can actually respond.

4) Make changes on a gradient (not a personality transplant)

If you try to change everything on January 1st, your nervous system will revolt.

Real change works best one layer at a time—in the right order—so it sticks.

5) Get a real framework (because guessing is exhausting)

Most approaches keep you stuck in trial-and-error.

A real reset has:

  • a beginning, middle, and end

  • weekly adjustments based on what your body needs

  • less and less support over time as your body starts doing its job again

That’s the whole point: this ends.

If you’re reading this and thinking, “This is me…”

If you have chronic symptoms, normal labs, and you’re tired of being told it’s stress/age/hormones/“just life”…

You’re not broken. You’re not crazy.

You’re missing the Owner’s Manual to your body—and that’s what we do here.
