Valentine's: How to love your body when you're mad at it!
Valentine’s Day is usually about relationships. But if we’re being honest, the hardest relationship for a lot of people is the one they have with their own body.
Because when you’re dealing with fatigue, brain fog, bloating, skin flare-ups, sleep issues, mood shifts, or “hormone symptoms”… it can start to feel like your body is ignoring you. Or working against you. And when your labs come back “normal,” it can feel like you’re stuck in the most frustrating kind of silence.
Here’s the twist I want you to sit with today: your body isn’t ghosting you.
Your body loves you. It’s sending signals the only way it can. It’s just that something is getting in the way of the message coming through clearly.
Most people have been taught to trust lab work as the final answer, but here’s what almost nobody explains:
You can have real symptoms long before standard labs show anything.
That’s not because you’re imagining it. It’s because many common tests don’t pick up dysfunction until the body has been compensating for a long time. So you’re sitting there thinking, “But I feel off every day,” while the paperwork says, “Looks good!”
That gap—between what you feel and what shows on paper—is where people start to lose trust in their body.
Valentine’s theme moment: What if this is a communication problem, not a “broken body”?
Think about any relationship. When communication breaks down, it usually isn’t because love disappeared overnight. It’s because something got layered in:
Stress. Overload. Misunderstandings. Not feeling heard. Too much happening at once.
Your body can be the same.
A lot of people are searching things like:
-
chronic fatigue but labs normal
-
brain fog with normal blood work
-
bloating every day but tests normal
-
food sensitivities out of nowhere
-
hormone imbalance symptoms but labs normal
-
mold illness symptoms
-
candida symptoms
-
SIBO symptoms
-
Lyme symptoms but negative test
What these searches have in common is this: people know something is going on, even when the test results don’t explain it.
So what’s “in the way”?
When I work with people, we’re not guessing. We’re looking for the hidden sources that often won’t show up in labs, like:
1) Your digestion isn’t breaking things down well
When digestion is weak, you can eat “healthy” and still feel awful. You may not be absorbing what you need, and your gut can get irritated easily.
2) Your system is overloaded
Toxins and inflammation can build up slowly. Your body can keep compensating… until it can’t. That’s when symptoms start getting louder.
3) Hidden stressors that keep the body stuck
Sometimes it’s a pathogen pattern. Sometimes it’s a food reaction that doesn’t show up in the ways people expect. Sometimes it’s deeper nervous system stress that keeps the body from responding the way it should, even when you’re doing the “right” things.
This is why someone can try supplements, diets, cleanses, and protocols and still feel like nothing holds. It’s not that you didn’t try hard enough. It’s that you may not have been targeting the real interference.
What I do differently: we reconnect the conversation
My work is about helping you rebuild communication with your body—so you’re not stuck guessing.
I use my proprietary muscle testing method, Functional Interference Testing (FIT), to find what’s stressing your system and what your body is actually asking for. The goal is to identify the real underlying sources—especially the ones that don’t show on labs—and create a plan that matches your body.
Because “generic” protocols can miss the mark when the real issue is specific.
Learning to love your body again (without forcing positivity)
Let’s be clear: loving your body doesn’t mean pretending you feel great. It doesn’t mean you have to be cheerful about symptoms.
Sometimes “love” looks like this:
-
believing yourself
-
taking your symptoms seriously
-
stopping the cycle of self-blame
-
getting curious instead of frustrated
-
finding the real source instead of covering things up
Valentine’s Day is a good reminder that love is not just a feeling. It’s a choice to pay attention. A choice to listen. A choice to support what’s struggling instead of turning against it.
And when your body has something in the way—something hidden that needs help—getting the right answers can change everything.
Not because your body suddenly becomes “perfect,” but because the relationship shifts back into trust.
Your body isn’t the enemy.
It’s been trying to protect you the whole time.
It just needs the interference cleared so the message can finally come through.
